Blows us away — this big boy, and his grasp of the world around him. Neither one of us can remember learning “sphere” and “rectangular prism” in kindergarten. And the science geeks we are immediately jumped on the chance to test his understanding.
Boy passed the test and then some. Surely our world is going to be a better place when children are learning hard concepts sooner than we were? It gives me hope that it all can’t be that bad and that our system isn’t completely broken. If my child can explain what it means to be 3D at age 5, maybe he can use that to do something really great by the time I was first learning how to differentiate a cylinder and a cube.
